 Removing Tough Carpet Pet Stains

 Blotting the stain

it’s best to act as soon as you notice a pet stain on your carpet. The longer you wait to treat the stain, the harder it becomes to remove the pet stains from the carpet. get a clean white towel and block the spot from the outside edge of the stain towards the center. make sure that you only block the stain, pressing down to absorb the urine, rather than scrubbing the stain. scrubbing the stain will simply spread the stain out further onto the rug or carpet. working from the outside edge of the stain towards the middle and a circular pattern will also prevent the urine stain from spreading on the carpet.

Treating the Stain With The Cleaning Solution

We recommend using an enzyme-based carpet cleaner to treat the pet urine stain. These carpet cleaners are specially formulated to treat pet urine and to break down organic materials and even odor causing bacteria. We recommend using an eco-friendly and pet friendly cleaning solution that is specially designed to Target urine. simply follow the instructions on the bottle. These instructions will usually ask you to spray the spot, allow the solution to sit on top of the stain for a while, and then block the area dry.

If you do not have these cleaning solutions, you can treat the pet stain with white distilled vinegar and baking soda. First, mix the white distilled vinegar with water in a one-to-one solution. then spray the stain with a spray bottle and allow the solution to sit on top of the stain for 5 minutes. then block the area dry, Spritz the area with water, and blot it dry again. Then, sprinkle the surface of the spot with baking soda. usually a quarter of a cup of baking soda will do the best, you don’t want to use too much. allow the baking soda to sit overnight on top of the stain, and then vacuum the area to remove any debris.

We do not recommend combining vinegar and baking soda, as this neutralizes the properties of each separate product and decreases their effectiveness at cleaning stains. always test any cleaning product on an inconspicuous part of your Carpenter rug to make sure that the solution won’t cause any damage or color loss to your carpet or rug.

Rinsing and Drying the Carpet / Rug

After removing the pet stain from your carpet or rug, spritz the area with warm water and blot it dry again to remove any product residue or debris that may have settled onto the area. You can help the carpet / rug dry more quickly by pointing a fan onto the spot.
